Good afternoon families! Our first week of school was a success! All of your children have been so respectful and ready to learn, it has been a pleasure to have them in class. Last week we spent a lot of time working on routines, this week we are diving into learning! Here are our learning objectives for the week:
Math - students will be able to find the area of rectangles with various lengths
Reading - students will be practicing their daily 5 center routines and making text to self connections with numerous books
Writing - students will be adapting fairy tales into their own stories
Science - students will be introduced to force and motion
Social Studies - students will be learning about the United States land and climates

Wednesday, September 16 - Open House 4-6pm. Please come and see our classroom, I would love to meet all of you!!

Friday, September 18 - Book Order Money is due

Homework:
- Any five nights a week your child will need to read 30 minutes and choose one question to answer from their reading. This is due every Monday
- Monday-Thursday your child will also receive a math worksheet that needs to be completed and returned the next day
- We also have numerous websites we use throughout the school day that your child may go on at home for extra practice. Your child should have their login information for the following sites: www.kidsa-z.com, www.adaptedmind.com, www.xtramath.org, http://em-ccss.everydaymathonline.com/g_login.html, and http://www.lexiacore5.com/
