Writing: how to being writing our persuasive essay
Science: how the digestive and respiratory system work and what important organs they include
Social Studies: about the early explorers and what they were looking for. Next week our test will be on Wednesday!
Spelling Words: giant's, giants', children's, its, sisters', sister's, it's, nurses', rather, defining, farther, replying, announce, character, stomach
Most of our spelling words this week are possessive nouns, meaning they show possession. We add the 's or s' when something belongs to someone. For example, that is Mrs. Gordon's desk over there. Since the desk belong to Mrs. Gordon, you add an 's. If it is one singular person, you add 's. If it is more that one person, you add s'. For example, That is the 5 boys' soccer team. Since there is more than one boy, you add s'.
